I apologize for not saying how well my read-a-thon had progressed on Monday. To tell you the truth - it was less than half... rather... quarter way done  . The week consisted of lots of garden/yard work, visa applications and translation for relatives, piano recital, shopping errands with mother (we found a nice Dollar Tree store in a nearby shopping plaza! :) ), piano practice, prepping and teaching kid's bible study, piano teaching/lessons, etc. the list goes on and on and on :P .
BUT!! I did get through Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Luke, part of John, The Magician's Nephew, part of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and a good chunk of the Pickwick Papers. I gained the most from the intense Bible reading - I got a good "overlook" at what God required of the Israelites during Moses' time and noticed a couple things and some prototypes. I also got a good "overlook" of what Jesus did in 3 years and lots of His teaching opened up in a new light ... unlike when I was poring over just one or 2 words/sentences. :P
CS Lewis books? I still say they are works of genius - I can't believe that he was able to portray sooooo many Biblical truths in such a clear and descriptive manner through STORIES. The little details not depicted in the movies are so important and overall - EXCELLENT literature... and yes, I am done with college :P .
Pickwick Papers - at first, I just felt so gooooood reading the big words and having literature to read (yeah, I got stuck sometimes) but after awhile... the stories seemed... somewhat disturbing? I was about halfway through when I realized, this stuff is really not edifying me. While learning new words and grammar syntax is a great thing, I felt the stories in there were rather.... icky and only so-so in building me up. I could make better use of my time, so I quit.
Just as a note, I will continue reading the books... but I don't think deadlines will work that well with me... at least ones so lacking in lenience :P . And what do you know? LifeHacker just sent me a How to Create an Awesome Summer Reading List... B-)
ANYWHO - I should get onto the things I'm thankful for! :D
Laterzzzzz...
