Asis: Woah - I just swallowed a ton of food.
Jsis: Most people do...
Asis: I meant at ONE time!!

A 5yo boy from Sunday School comes up to me holding a toy train and says, "LOOK! I am a fixer train. I'm the train that takes broken trains on the track to the fixer factory."

Here's an excerpt from Anne of the Island that makes me laugh every time I read it:

Jsis: Look! The chicken is sun-bathing... *bends the wings behind the chicken's neck* ... I think it's hurting.
________________________________________________________
Me: I'm thankful to have TWO hands.
Asis: You have 2 hands?
Me: Yes.
Asis: Well, I have one hand and then another one. Jsis has 3 minus 1 hands. Daddy has a couple of them. Mom has...
Me: 2 hands?
Asis: So, that's where you got it from!
________________________________________________________
Me: Jsis and Mom, we need to get in the car!
Asis: Yeah! Let's slap the street!!
Me: Whaaa?
Asis: Ya know - like "hit the road."
________________________________________________________
Me: How do you pronounce ... c-h-i-c ?? Cheek?
Asis: I think it's "Sheek".
Jsis: Chick?? Why do people want to be baby chickens?

Ok... now some pictures!! :)
Sorry so many are blurry. Someone's greasy fingers were trying to clean the lens and provided the opposite effect. I need to buy lens paper before I can remedy that :P .

Here's an excerpt from Anne of the Island that makes me laugh every time I read it:
[Anne] "You won't say naughty words, or run away on Sundays, or tell falsehoods to cover up your sins?"
"No. It doesn't pay," said Davy.
"Well, Davy, just tell God you are sorry and ask Him to forgive you."
"Have YOU forgiven me, Anne?"
"Yes, dear."
"Then," said Davy joyously, "I don't care much whether God does or not."
"Davy!"
"Oh -- I'll ask Him -- I'll ask Him," said Davy quickly, scrambling off the bed, convinced by Anne's tone that he must have said something dreadful. "I don't mind asking Him, Anne. -- Please, God, I'm awful sorry I behaved bad today and I'll try to be good on Sundays always and please forgive me. -- There now, Anne."

I didn't know you grew stevia! Is it relatively easy to grow? Can you use the leaves to sweeten things or do you have to make extract/concentrate? We use stevia to sweeten our homemade yoghurt :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I think it's hilarious that your sister thinks that ribbon looks like a bullet - because we did that exact thing with ribbon last year! Made rolls of it, taped them up, pushed one end out, and voila - .44 magnum bullets! :-D
I'll ditto Mac.... "I didn't know you grew stevia!" That's way cool :D (and... depends on what you mean by 'interested'!)
ReplyDeleteVera Bradley... yes those are really nice bags!! So cool that your sis got one - it's so pretty :)
Did I mention you're a great photographer? I think so, anyways.
Shalom!!! <3
@Mac, I would say it's pretty easy. I don't know how easy from seeds, because Dad bought little (4 in. plants). Since then, they've grown to double their size. We currently use them to sweeten our smoothies without extracting the special chemical, but it seems like it would be more efficient to use extract. I'm thinking about doing another blog post on Stevia - so hold on ;-) .
ReplyDeleteHaha; I told my sis. She says that's funny. and I still wonder how she knows what a bullet looks like :-P .
@Indi - yep, we do! I mean "interested" as in, "Would you like me to mail some to ya?" ;)
Actually - we three each got one. They're all really pretty. I'll post pics this Friday :) .
Aw, thanks :) . Ooooooo, pining for the day when I get my hands on a dslr :) .
Shalom! <3
