Read Proverbs 9 (KJV) yesterday and read this verse:
Verse 10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Which reminded me of this blog post (Humility -> Fear of the LORD -> Wisdom) I wrote last year.
I think I still have this stereotypical image of a somewhat old man who has made mistakes in his life and learned from all of them, gives the best advice all the time, never makes mistakes anymore, and his heart is completely in alignment with God's will. That's my idea of a wise and understanding man and pretty much a state I can never attain. But wisdom is more than that.
Plus we have the mind of Christ ...
1 Corinthians 2:16 NKJV
For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
So scratch what I wrote in "Not so common..." We DO have a way to be wise and have understanding!
