I just realized that I'm pretty much done with essays and have about 2 days to prepare for my interview! So, I asked my previous coach/boss Erica for some tips, and she so readily did a bunch of research for me (I love my coach!!!).
She also shared this blogpost with this movie of one of the professors as Acton (he's a great monologist!) -
While his material isn't obviously or straight-forwardly Christian, it has a lot of practical and great truths.
At the end of last year, when I was in the middle of my GMAT studies, I was really frustrated with my life goals. I felt like a dabbler. While I refuse to say that I'm a genius, I certainly have a plethora of interests that I knew if I put my back into could become careers. But I don't want to do just one! How in the world do you become a master in computer, piano, childcare, math, photography, missions, human anatomy, conducting, teaching, business, nutrition, blogging, recording, and so much more in only one life?
I had resigned myself to this one statement:
Just because God gives you a talent doesn't mean you have to use it for the whole of your life. That's why God gave you lots of talents.
In a sense this is true because there are only so many hours in a day, but I think watching Steven Tomlinson was very inspiring and encouraging, at least to me. Why would God give me all those interests if He wasn't going to use them? It is my responsibility to make sure those skills are all well-developed, so that when it's my turn to use one, I'm ready!
Alright, back to reading the Acton blog and watching videos by Acton's professors... I'm liking this school more and more!
Toodles!
