Thankful Thursday VII

Some things I'm thankful for this week:

17. Electric Outlets Outside the House - if you haven't noticed, I love convenience. If I didn't have electric outlets outside, I couldn't study outside, I could use the laptop outside, I couldn't do a lot of things. I couldn't bake with the toaster oven.  We couldn't do night gardening.  I couldn't have a boombox playing classical music as I paint the porch or mailbox.  Or I'd have to smash the extension cord in the corner of the door ... -.-

18. The Ability to Worship and Rejoice Anywhere and Anytime - Here, read Deuteronomy 12:4-7
You shall not worship the LORD your God with such things. “But you shall seek the place where the LORD your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go. There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. And there you shall eat before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice in all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which the LORD your God has blessed you.
The Israelites were only allowed to worship the LORD God at the temple.  Now, us "New Covenanters" can worship God and rejoice ALWAYS ANYWHERE!  I can't even imagine being limited to worshiping God at one place.  I'm very thankful.  :D

19. Skin - Daddy kind of made a joke of one morning. He pretty vividly described what we would be like without it in a few words (that would be difficult for me to translate).  It's an awful image to have in your head, so I'm thankful God gave us a "bag" for our bones... I mean, then people couldn't have called me a "bag'a'bones" when I was little!

20. Muscle Memory - So, I'm figuring out Rachmaninoff's 3rd Concerto.  THAT PIECE IS HARD!!! And if it weren't for my muscle memory, a turtle could move faster than my fingers when I sight-read.  But with that amazing brain function, I only need to play one section about 20 times very slowly and it's pretty much in my "muscle memory slot". The reason I play more? To increase speed, musicality, and better memory outside of muscle memory.

21. Sunlight - Both my mother and a friend's mother probably have weak vitamin D absorption abilities.  It shows when they can't get in the sun much (either extreme heat or extreme cold :P ).  But really, I often take it for granted that the sun is always gonna be there to provide my Vitamin D supplies.  I mean, I can literally feel my energy and efficiency levels go down on a cloudy day and my spirit brighten up on a sunny day.  Unfortunately, I have not always thanked God for this multi-faceted, flaming ball of gas.  But I thank Him now! :)

Internal Emotional Wearing-down

Where I've come from: I have been driven by fear and a desire to please people. I hate that. I thought I could live for my own values and beliefs... but I haven't been able to. Not until this past Sunday. I told my mother off... I was breaking down inside. I have wanted to die for over a year now. Everything seemed hopeless. Not so much for me, but for my purpose and effective work on planet earth. I saw no fruit. I could labor for the rest of my days to live and serve my God. And never ever see the results... and not that I need to see something... but because I knew that what I did WAS POINTLESS. I was doing nothing. And it was because in my mother's eyes, I would never be ready. I would never be enough. She thought she was protecting. She wasn't letting me grow. I can't do more if all you let me do is what is safe. ~CJ

Thankful Thursday XI

Aaaggghhh... I am so behind in the blogging world, like one of my friends says, " it's not even funny. " *sighs*  And I didn't get the chance to blog the Phriday Photos / Funnies - so I'll do a double one tomorrow :) . Anyways - what I'm thankful for this week: 30. BLOGS!!! - I'll admit it. When I first heard the word "blog", I thought the cyberworld couldn't get any sillier.  Well, way to go, CJ. Just join the silliness. Evidently the silliness has its advantages O.O . It's a place for me to rant, rave, and ramble, whether or not my readers want to see it.  It helps me organize my wordy thoughts.  And!! I can share what's been on my mind without having to know if people are looking at me strangely... hehe.  A more serious reason: I can share and read other's testimonies on how God is answering prayers: Answereth All !! *big smile* 31. 2 jobs - It's strange to say my piano teaching is a job, since I really enjoy telli...

Asis: Woah - I just swallowed a ton of food. Jsis: Most people do... Asis: I meant at ONE time!! ________________________________________________________ A 5yo boy from Sunday School comes up to me holding a toy train and says, "LOOK! I am a fixer train . I'm the train that takes broken trains on the track to the fixer factory ." ________________________________________________________ Here's an excerpt from Anne of the Island  that makes me laugh every time I read it: [Anne] "You won't say naughty words, or run away on Sundays, or tell falsehoods to cover up your sins?" "No. It doesn't pay," said Davy. "Well, Davy, just tell God you are sorry and ask Him to forgive you." "Have YOU forgiven me, Anne?" "Yes, dear." "Then," said Davy joyously, "I don't care much whether God does or not." "Davy!" "Oh -- I'll ask Him -- I'll ask Him," said Davy qu...
