This is NOT going to be a girly post... At least, I'm trying to make it not be :P ...
Oh... and my first boots in NC...
I wear the duck-tape ones anywhere, out in the yard, rather active basketball games (I always get a face injury :-P )... and the second pair, I hide the more worn-out areas under my jeans *cheesy grin* ...
Old shoes are more comfortable and worry-free (it's ok if they are in less-than-pristine condition).
The same goes for clothes...
Yeah... I'm weird...

I really love the new sneakers I got for Christmas... but I'm so scared of ruining them / making them dirty / scratching them... which, unfortunately, I've already done a lot of :( .
Well - they don't look too bad in the picture... but I can just feel "newness" disappearing...
Oh... and my first boots in NC...
I very much prefer wearing shoes like these -
| Bother - can't tell they're worn out... |
| Oh yeah... rocking the duct tape 8) hehe... :) |
And here is the overview... :)

There is a sadness involved with watching new clothes and shoes become worn and old. In a way, getting used, slightly-worn clothes is easier because someone else has gone through all that anguish for you :-)
ReplyDeleteGotta love those duct-tape shoes . . . Stephen used to have several pairs of those, but even duct-tape eventually failed. My current everyday pair could probably use some duct-tape as well
One of my younger brothers has sworn off basketball because he gets an injury every time too. I guess some people just have a predisposition to that kind of stuff!
Wow - Mac, you win for longest comment!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, hand-me-down clothes are pretty awesome as well. B)
LOL - in fact, I was wondering if you had any tips on duct-taping methodology ;-) . I can tell the way I've duct-taped my shoes isn't going to last long :-P .
And I thought it was just me! :rollatself: But, predisposition? I'm not so sure about that :-/ ... at least, I hope it isn't. O.O I like playing basketball too much.
Haha, I kind of surprised myself! Who knew I could wax eloquent on shoes for so long :O
ReplyDeleteTwo things about duct tape: don't tape it too tightly (or else you won't be able to get your foot in there), and don't tape it too near the end of the shoe (or the tape will slide off). Other than that, just use a lot and don't be afraid to re-apply ;-)
LOL - "wax eloquent" is right ;-) .
ReplyDeleteI don't think I taped too tightly, since the shoes are a little big. But I might have gone to near the end since it slipped a little at first. Definitely need to re-apply :-P . Thanks! :-)
