I've been meaning to post... I don't know why I don't post more :-/
I've also been meaning to start a "Thankful Thursdays habit" of sorts on here. I've seen so many Scriptures that tell me to give thanks always and I only too frequently forget or put that aside. It's not right.
So even though lots of people are using this wonderful idea and I don't feel innovative about it - I'm still going to post things about which I'm thankful for. I'll only post 3 for tonight. And I'm going to try to be more specific.
1. Water in my body - Without this, over 70% of my body (volume or mass, I'm not sure) wouldn't be existent. My mouth would be dry and I couldn't eat. My eyes would be dry and I couldn't see. My digestive system would have nothing lubricate the pathways. My blood would be completely congealed. You get the picture. My body would be a mess. Thank you, God, for the water in my body.

2. Siblings - what would you do if you had nobody to tease all day, all week, for your whole life? O.O Who would you practice patience on? Who would you tell a lot of things you just learned? Who would you scheme awesome pranks with? Who would you protect? Who would you comfort? Who would you lovingly guide? Without siblings, it's harder to do these things and get the most out of life. Thank you, Lord, for my siblings.
3. Paper - do you realize there were thousands of years without synthetic electricity, and a good while before information could be recorded in code? Really, I don't want to be carry hundreds of pounds of textbook material to and from class in the form of clay tablets for my daily workout. And when you want to jot down a thought, sketch a little diagram to explain a concept, write down some contact info for a friend - without paper, you would miss a lot of convenience. And tissue paper - it's cool to use big leaves when camping, but after a while, the fibers start peeling your nose skin. Thank you, whoever invented paper. And thank you, God, for putting that idea in his or her head.
Here's another post by a friend on thankfulness/gratefulness: I am Very Grateful

Ditto all of those! That's a good idea to start having Thankful Thursdays - we all need to be more thankful in light of all the things God has blessed us with!
ReplyDeleteMhm! I'm thinking about finding as many verses as I can on "giving thanks", whether commands or just the phrase. It's my weakest of the 4 parts of prayer (ACTS)... sadly.
