The sneaky little people do the sneaky little things...

Here's woulda-been-true story ... with an awful ending:

College kid is just about to finish a BA. The kid receives an invitation to attend a gathering with lots of great friends and REALLY wants to join. But, it looks as though finances, transportation, etc. are not going to work out as the deadline draws near.

Kid finishes degree. Family is all excited.

The two sisters scheme to have a roadtrip gathering location as a graduation present without letting college graduate know. Sister 1 contacts Friend 1 to get some more info and to get Friend 2's email (Friend 2 is in charge of gathering details) to let Friend 2 know 5 people will going to the event.

Kid sorrowfully lets Friend 1 and Friend 2 know that she won't be able to attend, completely unaware that siblings have already RSVPed. Friend 1 and Friend 2 try their best to maintain false sad and devastated states of mind. Word gets around that the college kid will actually make it to the gathering, but are "solemnly sworn into secrecy".

A few days before the event, the family starts packing the car and college kid is curious, but family nonchalantly explains a Midwest trip to visit family and friends during Spring Break.

Family gets to gathering location and college kid is very pleasantly shocked.

Everyone knew it was going to happen and laughs about it, except me. (Well, I might laugh).

Yes, I would have gone down in history in shame if my Dad hadn't spilled the beans about it all. So all the above is hypothetical (thank goodness).

The college kid is me. Those two sisters are my sneaky little sisters. Sneaky Friend 1 is India. Sneaky Friend 2 is Tessa although, Tessa will hopefully never know. :-P

There's no moral to the above rambling... I just love that my family and friends are sneaky in loving ways (since that is possible!). :D :D
