I'm not good at math ... at all... or any subject for that matter. (Something I have difficulty convincing my friends about!)
But I did complete many exercises and solve numerous problems... not any world record, but enough to make me realize a principle.
A friend was discussing how she had "plugged" through algebra, so that she could help her children plug through it, so they could help their children plug through it, and so on. It seemed meaningless to her.
I briefly mentioned that the character and perseverance applies to all areas of life.
I probably plug through writing research papers like she plugs through her math problems.
But that's not my point...
If one cannot determine to solve the problems
It doesn't make sense to push a subject aside,
Does that make sense?

If one cannot determine to solve the problems
on 2D surfaces
with potentially abstract concepts,
what makes one think one can persist through and resolve
live, 3D problems
with physical and eternal consequences?
It doesn't make sense to push a subject aside,
just because it doesn't come easily
and you're not good at it,
just as
it doesn't work to push aside life's problems,
because it isn't easy to live through
or you're not an expert counselor in that area.
Does that make sense?
