Moooooore writing ... la segunda parte

Yes, I had to look it up in GoogleTranslate to see how to say "part 2" in Spanish, but as long as I remember, I've learned, right?

Anyhow... I figured that on February 20th, I wouldn't have any pressing writing to complete until classes started.
I mean, I'd already written about 5000 words in 21 pages including a video essay and used every word in my vocabulary... (which I'm supremely happy to be done with!)
it felt like I couldn't squeeze anymore out...

OH, I have something I'm thankful for...
(thesauruses!!!)

Turns out, I'm not going to retake the GMAT (don't have time, anyhow) but I'm going to apply for three more schools... maybe.

  1. Duke - since I have some friends/acquaintances who graduated from or work there and it helps to have connections.
  2. Carnegie Mellon - my application fee is waived.
  3. University of Rochester - application fee waived if I pass through initial consultation (where they check my credentials and determine the likelihood of my admission and scholarship amounts).

This means at least 10 more essays or 15 pages... in about 12 days.  I'm SO glad that a lot of the questions overlap (it's not like I have different goals if I go to a different school).  But I'm not ecstatic about the ones with different topics.  For example, the following really bug me...

  1. Describe an obstacle you have faced in your professional or academic life. How did you overcome this obstacle and how did it foster your development? Um - my whole LIFE has been filled with obstacles? But really, it doesn't take 2-double-spaced pages to talk about ONE. How did it foster my development? Easy... I learned how to overcome obstacles... *sighs* ... but how do I tell you in TWO pages?!
  2. The Tepper School is looking for individuals who will make an impact. Give an example of a time where you made an impact in your professional or academic life. You're REALLY going to ask me to brag?! And what do you mean "make an impact"? I invade and infiltrate networks and systems so I can wreak havoc and overtake the world!! Just kidding, no. I really don't remember making an impact during school/college. Perhaps I shall talk about how I make impact during piano teaching. Ah yes! (This is why I like blogging; it clears up my mind, sometimes).
  3. (Last one so you won't be scared to apply for business schools or for any graduate school, really). Outside of my professional and/or academic life, I am especially proud of… Uhhh, I have no life outside of work and school... that's what is supposed to happen to all college students, right? And we're back to the conceit issue. Please don't tempt me!!

Wow... I was complaining alot... one more thing on my list to fix about me.
One - Stop criticizing people.
Two - Stop bossing people around.
Three - Learn how to take compliments.
Four - STOP complaining!

Alright... I will stop depressing your lives and contemplate how to wow the admissions offices and on how I'm going to teach Bible Study tonight.

Toodles!

Internal Emotional Wearing-down

Where I've come from: I have been driven by fear and a desire to please people. I hate that. I thought I could live for my own values and beliefs... but I haven't been able to. Not until this past Sunday. I told my mother off... I was breaking down inside. I have wanted to die for over a year now. Everything seemed hopeless. Not so much for me, but for my purpose and effective work on planet earth. I saw no fruit. I could labor for the rest of my days to live and serve my God. And never ever see the results... and not that I need to see something... but because I knew that what I did WAS POINTLESS. I was doing nothing. And it was because in my mother's eyes, I would never be ready. I would never be enough. She thought she was protecting. She wasn't letting me grow. I can't do more if all you let me do is what is safe. ~CJ

Thankful Thursday XI

Aaaggghhh... I am so behind in the blogging world, like one of my friends says, " it's not even funny. " *sighs*  And I didn't get the chance to blog the Phriday Photos / Funnies - so I'll do a double one tomorrow :) . Anyways - what I'm thankful for this week: 30. BLOGS!!! - I'll admit it. When I first heard the word "blog", I thought the cyberworld couldn't get any sillier.  Well, way to go, CJ. Just join the silliness. Evidently the silliness has its advantages O.O . It's a place for me to rant, rave, and ramble, whether or not my readers want to see it.  It helps me organize my wordy thoughts.  And!! I can share what's been on my mind without having to know if people are looking at me strangely... hehe.  A more serious reason: I can share and read other's testimonies on how God is answering prayers: Answereth All !! *big smile* 31. 2 jobs - It's strange to say my piano teaching is a job, since I really enjoy telli...

Asis: Woah - I just swallowed a ton of food. Jsis: Most people do... Asis: I meant at ONE time!! ________________________________________________________ A 5yo boy from Sunday School comes up to me holding a toy train and says, "LOOK! I am a fixer train . I'm the train that takes broken trains on the track to the fixer factory ." ________________________________________________________ Here's an excerpt from Anne of the Island  that makes me laugh every time I read it: [Anne] "You won't say naughty words, or run away on Sundays, or tell falsehoods to cover up your sins?" "No. It doesn't pay," said Davy. "Well, Davy, just tell God you are sorry and ask Him to forgive you." "Have YOU forgiven me, Anne?" "Yes, dear." "Then," said Davy joyously, "I don't care much whether God does or not." "Davy!" "Oh -- I'll ask Him -- I'll ask Him," said Davy qu...
